04/29/12
Calling all fans of The Cab! On April 29, 2012, it will be the four year anniversary of the drop of Whisper War and the second annual The Cab Day! Last year we did some amazing things for our favorite band. They have overcome so much in the past year, getting dropped from their label and releasing their sophomore album, Symphony Soldier, independently. This is a day to celebrate them. Ready to go to arms, symphony soldiers?

The Cab Day 2012APRIL 29TH • TUMBLR • TWITTER
That’s right, folks. It’s back!
You may be familiar with the day because it was awarded The Cab’s #3 Top Accomplishment of 2011. For those of you who don’t know what The Cab Day is, allow me to give a brief overview: last year, fans came together and organized the first ever TCD. Its original purpose was to bring attention to the fact that The Cab had been working hard on their new album and still we hadn’t heard a single thing about an official release date. It was a call to all soldiers to stand up for the boys who had been fighting so hard for us - it was time to return the favor. TCD became so widespread that The Cab actually hosted a TCD Ustream, arranged a free acoustic show in Las Vegas, in addition to another show in California where they played Whisper War in its entirety. You can see their announcement about last years TCD here. TCD was self-proclaimed as April 29th in honor of the three year mark of WW’s debut.
This year, we’re planning on making TCD even better than it was last year! The “theme” last year, for lack of a better word, was to show our strength in numbers and prove that there was in fact a fan base there waiting for Symphony Soldier’s release. As for 2012, with The Cab free of FBR and SS successfully released, we are treating TCD has one huge celebration. There will be fan activities leading up to TCD as well as some on the day of; missions will be issued to help promote The Cab and SS; there will be prizes for participating, contests, and giveaways. Overall, we want to include every last soldier in the festivities no matter at what point you decided to enlist. All of you are equally important in our fan family.
Now that you have a clear understanding of TCD, let’s get to your first activity! This is going to require just three things from you:
You love The Cab.
You have access to a video recorder.
You have absolutely no shame.
My friend Helen is working on a project that will be released on TCD. This is in conjunction with the tattoo submissions I had posted about the other day (still accepting!). We are asking that you take a lyric from “Living Louder” and re-create the lyric by pictures or video (audio will be silenced, so please express the lyric visually). All submissions sent will be put together for a final video.
To participate:
Send your full name to thecabday@gmail.com
You may request a specific lyric if you would like
You may sign up for up to three lyrics (i.e. “yeah the good die young, but the great will always last”, “and baby I’m fighting harder”, and “but we’re all soldiers tonight”). Depending on the amount of people participating this may change to incorporate as many fans as possible.
Please note: requesting a lyric does not necessarily mean that will be the one you are assigned. If it’s available, it’s all yours! If someone else has already selected that lyric, you will be sent a new lyric to perform.
These submissions must be video footage of the lyric being acted out. Feel free to use your imagination: these do not have to be intimately serious submissions. If you’d like to huge a megaphone to express living louder, by all means, use a megaphone. Please make note that your video can’t be any longer than the audio of the lyric itself (i.e. you shouldn’t submit 30 seconds worth of video for a lyric that takes seven seconds to sing). When you receive a reply back with your lyric to complete, it will include a second time span so you know how long your submission should be!
If you have a concern over what would and would not be acceptable for your submission, please contact Helen directly and she will let you know if your idea would work for the project.
All submissions are to be e-mailed to the same as above. Deadline to submit is April 1st, 2012. Please note: if you sign up and are unable to complete your submission, let us know as soon as possible. This is important to the success of the project and the sooner we know, the sooner we can get someone else to complete the lyric!
We are really excited to have the pre-stages of TCD already in the works and look forward to the completion of this project, among many others! This is only the beginning, my friends!
If you have any questions about the project, feel free to ask either myself or Helen.
Thank you!
